The rail infrastructure in Germany is in poor condition and overloaded on many routes. It will take years for the situation to improve noticeably. How can the punctuality and reliability of train services be improved in the meantime?

This is the question being addressed by the “Robust Timetable” expert commission set up by DB InfraGO AG. Uwe Lahl, former head of department at the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport, has been appointed to this commission. The commission started its work on November 3, 2026.
